I meant that the row of holes look exactly like the ones woodpeckers leave when they are fishing after bugs. I guessed weevils as the bugs because I hear they have been really bad this year.
He woke us up so many mornings that we had to go find him and see what he was up to. Turns out he was making those little lines of holes around tree after tree up and down the trunks feasting on those buggers.

Looks like a woodpecker or two have been going after bugs in the tree. Maybe weevils?
